Outdoor Music Lesson
P4 enjoyed an outdoors music lesson today. We made some instruments using natural materials and then discussed how to change the pitch and tempo.
World Around Us - WW2
In World Around Us, Prep 4 have been learning about life in World War Two. During a workshop run by the Active Learning Company, we got to try on different world war two clothes, learn about different weapons and play with some old toys. We made medals, raced through a tunnel wearing a soldier helmet and completed some code breaking. We all had a fabulous day and particularly enjoyed learning different military drill commands.
World Book Day
Prep 4 were busy on World Book Day showing off their costumes and their potato competition entries. Well done to everyone!
Life in Recent Past
Prep 4 have started their World War 2 topic this month and have had great fun learning about rationing, propaganda, and the life of evacuees. They wrote fabulous evacuee diaries imagining what it would be like to be separated from family and suddenly living in a different area and have been creating self-portraits with a World War 2 twist.
In Numeracy this term, the girls have been learning about graphs to show different ways of displaying data and information. They created some Carroll diagrams and Venn diagrams to sort 2D shapes looking at colour, size, and number of sides.
Trip to the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum
P4 were very excited to learn about homes from the past on our trip to the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum.
An end of month treat!
Prep 4 worked so hard in September that they reached all their pots of gold on their reward system. Their treat was an afternoon of baking and decorating biscuits. Well done girls!
International Languages Week
Prep 4 had a great week covering many topics in relation to International Languages Week. They made Maasai necklaces, did world map jigsaws, drew the Eiffel Tower, and dressed up as a country to end the week!
