Big Birdwatch
In Prep 3 we have been very busy learning about the winter weather. We have carried out a scientific investigation about freezing liquids and learnt about how we can look after the birds in our local area during winter. To follow up our study of birds we took part in the Annual RSPB Big Schools Birdwatch. We were joined by Catherine from the RSPB who helped us to recognise and identify the different birds when we were collecting data. Afterwards the girls had great fun creating bar graphs and then we submitted this important data to the RSPB scientists to analyse along with other school's data across the UK. Catherine also very kindly donated a bird feeder to help us feed our local small birds. The Prep 3 girls chose to hang it in our playground, maybe we will catch a glimpse of some birds having some food soon.
