Girls perform at Carrickfergus Music Festival
On May 6th five girls took part in the woodwind classes at Carrickfergus Music Festival. All of them received medals for their excellent performances. In the under-12 flute solo class, Katie Dick (P7) gained 2nd place out of 14 competitors and Isabel Toogood (P7) came 3rd, both narrowly beaten by Cara Morwood in Year 8.
In the under-12 clarinet solo class Maia Butcher was a worthy winner from 6 competitors, and Anna Cardwell (P6) was placed 3rd.
In the under-12 woodwind ensemble Isabel and Katie won the class, playing a duet arrangement of "The Entertainer", whilst Maia and Anna were joined by Ella Ross (P6) on flute. Placing 2nd, the girls played trio arrangements of "Yellow Bird", "Early One Morning" and "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star".
